The Bauer Vapor X500 Skates are built for the competitive, intermediate-level player looking more power and protection. Unlike the lower price points, the X500's feature removable Tuuk stainless steel runners in the Edge holder which has been the most popular in the NHL since it made its debut a few years ago. The tongue has a traditional 40oz felt base with injected high-density foam lace-bite guard for more comfort and impact absorption.
The reinforced TrueForm Tech PU boot features incredible stiffness and support at this price point. It is fully thermformable so players can bake the skate before they use them for a custom fit and decreased break-in time. The updated X-Rib design was developed during OD1N project and gives player better stability and responsiveness than before. Between the boot and the holders is an injected and embossed outsole with a large Vapor "X" logo stamped underneath
