The shell of the Powerslide R2 is made by composite material. We use fiberglass reinforced nylon material to make the shell strong like a carbon fiber shell. The cuff area of this entry level skate is a little bit softer compared with a shell made of carbonfibre for more comfort. This shell is based on a skeleton - the ribs on the bottom help to build a lightweight shell but also allow fresh air to flow into the boot for a better climate in the boot.
The boot is made of a PU nanoleather upper material is soft, yet very strong and resistant. This outstanding material wraps around the foot like a sock. We use neoprene and microfiber materials for the inside lining, which provide maximum comfort.
The 3D anatomical padding is placed strategically around the ankle area and also the tendon area of the shoe to assure the most secure ankle and heel fit. The new speedfoam used for the padding is another advanced material used in our racing shoes. This foam is soft, but not too soft to absorb energy and still very comfortable. Step in and you will feel well from very first minute you wear the boot. The speedfoam padding does not take away space inside the shoe where you would need it, but fills up the empty spaces to give more comfort and control.
The Powerslide X frame is a light weight, but rigid single voided frame made of 6061 aircraft aluminium. The frame is also very stiff that to its tricky CNC machinering. The frame length is adjusted to the shoe size. A 12,0” frame length with a 165mm mounting standard is used for the smaller size range (37 and 38) and a 12,8” frame size with 195mm mounting standard for the larger size range (39 to 46). Both frames are made for max. 4x100mm wheel set ups. Single axles with torx head and nice graphics are already standard for this entry level frame as well. The combination of the across slot in the frame and the along slot in our boots is called the X-Slot Mounting. This system enables the skater to adjust the boot-frame setup without any dead spots according to their skating style and preferences.
