Entry-level doesn't have to mean low quality. Take Bauer's Nexus N6000s for example. They're strong, durable, relatively lightweight and offer great performance for the dollar. If you're just getting (back) into the game or need skates for the ocassional game or rec league, the Nexus N6000s are a good bet. These skates perform nearly as well as many top of the line skates from just a few years ago — they're that good.
Like all Nexus-line skates, the N6000s feature Bauer's classic fit — their deepest, most forgiving fit. The boot fits a little wider in the forefoot and ankle, deeper in the quarter-depth and taller in the toe-box and overall boot height. Your foot fits deeper in the boot and results in excellent responsiveness. If you have flat feet, wide feet, thick feet, or just prefer a classic, more comfortable fit, the Nexus line is for you.
The Nexus N6000s feature a lightweight engineered mesh quarter package that provides plenty of ankle support to keep you pointing in the right direction. Internal protection comes by way of Bauer's Comfort Foam ankle padding and a pre-formed felt tongue with metatarsal guard. The brushed nylon liner is soft and forgiving. Your feet rest on Bauer's molded EVA footbed which does a good job of transferring energy.
Externally, you're looking at a beautiful design with classic lines. The boot is strong and supportive around the ankle. It bends slightly when forced to. Otherwise it's a strong feel. A TPR outsole connects it all and offers the feet good feedback. TUUK Lightspeed Pro holders and Super Stainless Steel round out the package
